Why GTA matters

Clinical-level training that no standard agency can match

Most maid agencies in Malaysia simply screen and place. At Genesis Life Care, every helper completes a comprehensive training programme before they enter your home.

Our training is developed by the same clinical teams that run Genesis Life Care Group's aged-care centres — Malaysia's largest aged-care provider with over 400 care beds nationwide. This means your helper learns real skills in a real care environment, not just classroom theory.

Whether you need a domestic helper for housekeeping or a specialist caregiver for dementia care, your helper arrives with verified, practical skills that make a real difference from day one.

How it works

The GTA training journey

Every helper follows a structured path from enrolment to certified placement.

1

Enrolment & assessment

Each helper is assessed on existing skills, language ability, and care experience to create a personalised training plan.

2

Classroom training

Structured lessons covering all 6 core modules — delivered by experienced trainers and Genesis Life Care clinical staff.

3

Practical hands-on

Real-world practice in actual Genesis Life Care aged-care centres — not simulated environments. Helpers learn by doing.

4

Assessment & certification

Skills assessment, competency evaluation, and GTA certification before the helper is approved for family placement.

FAQ

Training questions answered

What families and helpers want to know about our training programme.

Is the training included in the placement fee?

Yes. Genesis Training Academy is included as part of every placement — there is no additional fee for training. It's one of the key advantages of choosing Genesis Life Care over a standard agency.

How long is the training programme?

The full GTA programme covers 80+ training hours across 6 core modules. The duration varies depending on the helper's existing skills and the level of care your family requires.

Do all helpers receive the same training?

All helpers complete the core modules (Household Management, Elder Care Essentials, First Aid). Helpers placed in specialist care roles receive additional modules in Dementia Care, Post-Stroke Rehabilitation, or Palliative Care based on family needs.

Where does the training take place?

Training takes place at our dedicated Genesis Training Academy facility and in actual Genesis Life Care aged-care centres — giving helpers hands-on experience in real care environments, not simulated settings.

Can I request additional training for my helper?

Yes. If your family has specific care needs — such as diabetic meal preparation, wheelchair transfer techniques, or cultural cooking preferences — we can incorporate additional training before placement.
